China and South Korea International Cultural Exchange Program

On April 27, 2024, the Seo-Gu Youth Center hosted an International Cultural Exchange Program that included students from China and South Korea. The Chinese students presented a topic about “胡同,” which is “Traditional Neighborhoods/Streets” in English. The Chinese students explained the culture of “胡同” and explained the history of how “胡同” came to be. They also explained how many “胡同 “are being demolished to make way for new buildings and structures in China. They discussed attempts of people trying to preserve “胡同” and their culture. The Korean students presented a topic called “K-POP,” or “Korean Pop.” The Korean students explained the history and motives behind “K-POP” and its impacts on Korean society and economy. They also held a free conversation to introduce themselves and share friendship.

The event lasted from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM KST on April 27, 2024.
